Description
The geology of Utah is spectacular. Erosion and climate have exposed rocks and geologic structures, providing extraordinary opportunities to study up-close the rocks and minerals of the region. We will learn the types of rocks, their mineral components, the processes by which they were formed, and how to identify and classify them in the field. Samples and hand-outs will be provided by the instructor. A final field trip up Big Cottonwood Canyon can be arranged if there is sufficient interest.
