Description
Careers are often chosen and managed "in order to" - in order to get a good job, to make money, or to attain a certain level of prestige. By the time we enter our 50s and 60s many of us find ourselves looking for new purpose. When your gut calls for change, consider seeking out that new purpose in an encore career. Encore careers can also serve to reinvigorate those who have been downsized and are having difficulty finding a position equal to or better than the one they left. Whatever the case, an encore career can make your final work years productive, meaningful, and satisfying. Learn how to understand your goals, drivers, and talents and consider opening your options to include your passions. Once you have some direction for your encore, take "Re-Entering the Workforce After 50" to transition into your new career. For a more in-depth look at the topic take "Finding Purpose at Work After 50."
