Prerequisite: NURS 7020 AND Instructor's Consent.
Description
Meets with NURS 7611. The first in a series, this course introduces nurse midwifery and women's health nurse practitioner students to the philosophy and role of the independent practitioner in the ambulatory setting. Students apply didactic knowledge and clinical skills in the provision of women's health care throughout the life span. With an emphasis on normal findings, students will practice techniques of assessment, beginning diagnosis, development and implementation of a plan of care. They work under the close supervision of faculty/preceptors. This is a Credit/No Credit course.
