Description
Public health informatics is an emerging interdisciplinary field focusing on
the use of information technology in public health practice, research, and
education. This course provides an introduction to the field through
exposure to core concepts of public health and epidemiology and examination
of national and local public health informatics initiatives. Students will
become familiar with informatics problems in the public health domain by
evaluating existing surveillance systems and examining the breadth of
existing information management systems.
