Description
Are you tempted by the bargains the current real estate market is providing buyers? Take a good, hard look at short sales, auctions, trustee sales, bank-owned properties, BPOs, and REOs as we separate reality from marketing hype and discuss what's involved in buying and financing distressed properties. You will learn how to determine: If you have the resources to take advantage of the opportunities provided by this distressed market; the value of a property and alternative uses of mortgage money; when it's better to use the 'yield spread' to pay closing costs rather than have the seller pay them; and the pros and cons of refinancing a current home or selling and moving up. During the Saturday field trip, we will go inside properties and turn our classroom discussions into practical applications.
