ART 1015 - Learning the Language of Visual Art: Accessing Your Own Creativity By Learning In And Through Art

This is an introductory studio course where non-art major students will create visual art in both two-and three-dimensional media. Students will also explore various art techniques, concepts, and methods when creating autobiographical visual art. Students will learn pedagogy techniques using these art methods and materials with young people that could be used in the following settings; schools, recreation and community centers, hospitals, juvenile detention facilities, day care facilities, and in the home. Students will plan, implement and evaluate a series of art making experiences with a group of their peers for a small group of young people.
