MUSC 3350 - Jazz Improvisation I

Beginning level course. How to Practice and approach beginning creative jazz improvisation. Emphasis hands-on performance and ear training, all participants must perform on their major instrument. Areas of study include ear training exercises, performances of jazz standards appropriate for this level, creation and performance of chord patterns and arpeggios, critical listening, and analysis of jazz standards and solo transcriptions.
