Description
At the time of his death Wallace Stegner (1909-1993) was recognized as one of America's leading figures in literature and conservation. During his long writing career he wrote books and essays on history, literary criticism, biography, and the problems of conservation and water in the American West. Through studying Stegner's non-fiction works we will come to appreciate the significant impact Stegner had on the American literature of the last half of the twentieth century and the strong influence he brought to conservation and ecological movements.
