Description
Forensic anthropologists examine human skeletal remains to determine the characteristics of the deceased. The media stretches the bounds of forensics, leaving just enough truth to be believable. This course explores the facts, fiction, and fallacies of forensic anthropology in the media. We will discuss basic analytical techniques, including hands-on experiences with forensic skeletal material to understand how forensic anthropologists read the skeleton with respect to sex, age, race, and pathologies. By the end of this course you will be able to dissect an episode of your favorite crime drama.
