Description
Would you like to grow tender lettuce and spinach; juicy tomatoes; and flavorful carrots, zucchinis, and more? Learn the tricks to a successful vegetable garden in this informative beginner class. Focusing on a variety of easy-to-grow vegetables, we'll cover soils, soil amendments, fertilizers, composting, cool- and warm-season vegetable crops, planting dates, and general growing information. We'll also discuss common garden insects and diseases. One evening will be spent enjoying hands-on experience in a garden. By the end of class, you will have designed your own garden plan and completed a month-by-month gardening calendar. Co-sponsored with Wasatch Community Gardens.
