FINAN 6880 - Financial Institutions, the Community Reinvestment Act, and the Application of Mortgaged Backed Secu

Students will exposed to financial institutions in general and the differences between commercial banks and industrial banks in particular. The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and its accompanying regulations will be carefully examined. Through banks' Performance Evaluations, regulatory complying CRA investments and loans will be investigated. Mortgaged backed securities and their accompanying housing tax credits will be related to CRA's role in addressing low to moderate income housing needs.
