LLBUS 175 - Investing for Women

Principles of investing may not change with gender, but communication styles often do. If you are more comfortable learning with women, this class is for you. We'll cover investment basics as well as more advanced strategies as we look at how to mix varying stock and bond choices for a diversified portfolio; examine the pros and cons of stocks that pay dividends versus those that do not; discuss diversification, risk tolerance, dollar cost averaging, and long-term investing; and offer guidelines for saving for large goals such as a home purchase, college tuition, and/or retirement. We will discuss the pros and cons of handling investments yourself or working with a qualified advisor; types of advisors and fees will also be covered.
