Description
Ever wonder why magazine articles are so much more engaging than newspapers and other forms of media? It's in the writing. Good magazine writers are storytellers as much as they are purveyors of facts. Learn how to write like the pros and publish your articles in local and national magazines. We'll cover idea generation, creative writing techniques unique to magazine nonfiction, revision and research skills, target marketing, query letters and much more. By the end of the course, and with the help of discussions, class exercises, and group revision workshops, you will have the tools you need to write and publish a magazine article. Michele is the author of The Cowboy Life and the co-author of Chinese Cookery. A former magazine editor in New York, Michele has written for many national publications, including Travel Holiday, Conde Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure, Outside, Discovery, Self, Money, More, McCall's, Parenting, Ladies' Home Journal, and Diversion.
