Description
Explore the fascinating practice of Neo-Paganism in this experiential class. Deriving from the Latin, Paganism (paganus) means 'country dweller' (read: bumpkin); in ancient times, this pejorative described those whose religious beliefs fell outside of Christianity. Neo-Paganism, today's resurrection of these practices, encompasses spiritual or cultic beliefs of folk religions, especially polytheistic ones. In this class, we'll offer an overview of Neo-Paganism's religious and secular practices, then dive right into god and goddess forms, spells, dream work, personal altars, and ritual elements and skills. Hands-on in-class practice, experiential assignments, and optional opportunities to attend a Goddess Circle and Sabbat will help you gain a good understanding of this mystic and 'living mythology' belief system. Amber is an ordained priestess and Domina of a nonprofit pagan church in Utah (visit www.ools.org for more information.) She has gained degrees in a variety of Neo-Pagan traditions, including Wicca, ceremonial magic, and druidry.
