LLCFT 202 - Introduction to Fine Jewelry: Rings

Learn the basic techniques used to fabricate fine jewelry as you design and make a sterling silver band ring with a bezel set stone. You will learn to stamp, saw, drill, and file the metal; solder the bezel onto the band; and set a stone into the bezel. Focus is on refining basic techniques; you will be asked to think about form and function as you apply those techniques to your own design. Laura has an associate's degree in jewelry design and manufacturing from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and is a certified gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America. She has been designing jewelry since 1996.
