Description
Working with clay is a versatile hobby: You can produce both functional and artistic forms using either a potter's wheel or hand building techniques . In this class the focus is on handbuilding techniques such as pinch pots, coil building, soft and hard slabs, and surface texturing. Firing techniques will also be covered. Instruction is adapted to you, regardless of whether you are looking to try pottery for the first time, want to build a solid foundation of skills, or wish to advance your skills to the next level. Class includes instruction and practice time; lab assistants provide individual guidance. Practice time is flexible and abundant, and open studio time can be arranged outside of class.
