ELP 6530 - History of Higher Education

Meets with ELP 7530. Universities have championed inquiry, educated students, and developed civilization for nearly 800 years. This course explores the origins of universities in Europe and the development of four distinct forms of higher education in the United States: the residential college, the land grant university, the research university, and the community college.
