Description
Have you ever wondered about the geology behind Utah's beautiful redrock desert? Travel with us to the San Rafael Swell as we examine sedimentary rocks from the Permian through Cretaceous age (250 to 110 million years ago) related to the supercontinent Pangea and its break up. We'll talk about time scales, moving continents, changing landscapes, ancient climates, and fossil plants and animals from regional and global perspectives as we observe the many different sediment types (tidal flats, river plains, ocean sediments, fossil soils, etc) in the area.
