Description
This course aims to provide an overall understanding of current pharmacotherapeutic approaches and the basic science underpinnings of those approaches for managing important disease conditions. Topics in Pharmacology and Toxicology will consist of the major drug categories applied in the different systems of the body, including Central nervous systems, Autonomic Nervous Systems, Cardiac drugs, Respiratory drugs, Gastrointestinal drugs, Renal drugs, Bone and Endocrine systems, Antibiotics, Cancer therapeutics, and Immunotherapies. The relevant pathophysiology, pharmacology, and toxicology will be presented in each module, and therapeutic advances will be presented or discussed by the students during each session.
