Description
Pioneer homes in western North America are often assumed to have been log cabins. Not so in Salt Lake City! Near the Great Salt Lake, on level land to be used for farming, trees were in short supply. But mud, which a few pioneers knew could be made into bricks, was easy to find on the wet land near the Great Salt Lake. So the pioneers of every rank made bricks, made homes, and made history with adobe.
