Description
Join us to explore three different methods of bas-relief in glass designs. The best way to understand "bas-relief" is to see one--take a look at a penny, nickel, or other coin and examine the raised images on it; they're all bas-reliefs. You'll learn how to score and cut glass into strips, including the chemistry of glass, firing temperatures, and how glass behaves under heat. Think outside the box to create your own textures using the studio's "treasure box" of mark-making tools: tree branches, screen, utensils, ribbons, sea shells or start your own treasure box right now! You'll create one small plate or bowl with texture to pick up at a later date. This is a beginner class, no experience necessary.
