LAWC 651 - 001 Basic Mediation Training


THIS COURSE DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR U OF U EMPLOYEE TUITION REDUCTION OR EMERITUS DISCOUNT BENEFITS. THE LAST DATE TO DROP THIS CLASS FOR A FULL REFUND IS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2025. This course provides at least 40 hours of basic mediation training in an online format. Class meets live via Zoom each Wednesday evening from February 12, 2025 to April 2, 2025 (this course will observe spring break, no class on March 12), and attendance at each class is MANDATORY to receive roster credit. There will also be approximately 2-3 hours of asynchronous material to complete prior to the class sessions each week, and a final capstone project and 30-minute meeting with the instructor. This course has been qualified by the Utah Court and meets the educational requirement to be listed as a mediator on the Utah Court Roster of Mediators (basic roster). You must attend EVERY class session and complete all online material in order to be awarded credit for the roster. There are other requirements beyond taking this course that must be completed before being a rostered mediator, including 20 practical hours, and completing an online ethical exam.
